Legend Airlines was an airline company that was based in Dallas, Texas in the United States. The headquarters of Legend Airlines was located in Dallas Love Field, an airport situated in Dallas.
Legend Airlines had a rough ride from the start. From its inception, Legend Airlines was to face a series of legal battles just to be able to be licensed to fly. A competing airline had tried to prevent Legend Airline from gaining space at the Dallas Love field by citing restrictions. However, in the court battles, Legend Airlines won, and were cleared to fly from their Dallas Love Field. However, the legal proceedings drained much of the company’s financial resources.
Undeterred, Legend Airlines took to the skies. Soon it expanded its services to major cities like New York City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Washington D.C.
The basic purpose of the new airline was to provide a different and better category of service to its passengers. They wanted to create something, which was better than the business class in other airlines so they wanted to promote comfort. Also unlike other airlines, the entire plane was to be the better version of the business class section, which was only offered in small sections by other airlines. In order to do this, many seats were removed from the standard plane; the seats were made wider, spacious and more comfortable. Due to removal of seats, each row had more legroom so that each passenger could stretch and relax at will and not be constrained by lack of space. Other changes included hiring a professional team of chefs to cook the onboard meals and included proper dishes and cutlery as compared to plastic ones, which were used in other airlines.
However, only after being able to fly for a couple of months, Legend Airlines filed for bankruptcy. In its short period of existence, the airline lost a hefty amount of money. Most of the money lost was due to the lawsuits between Legend Airlines and the rival airlines. However, the official statement given at the time was that the fuel costs were too high. By March 2005, the airline had surrendered its operating certificate.
Despite wanting to revolutionize air travel, Legend Airlines failed to make an impact to legal clashes with the rival airline. The airline should have been more forewarned about possible lawsuits and potential rivals before entering the market. Legion Airlines is one of reliable and cost effective travel management service that ensures quality and service comfort at all levels.
